In a quiet log cabin, about a mile away from the small town of Terim, a young woman stands at the sink. God, I hate the dishes. She rolled her eyes. Moving she liked. New people, new jobs, new opportunities. It was moving in and settling in that she hated.
But Tris was just making a big deal out of this. She didn't have much. The previous owners left behind some wood furniture, but besides that, the house was open.
There were a total of eight rooms. There was a coat room just inside the door. This room also happened to be the coldest room in the house. One door led from the coat room to the kitchen and the other led to the dining room. First off, the kitchen was small, but warm. It had a sink, an oven and a cabinet. No fridge. The dining room was large, but longer. There was a table in the middle with four chairs surrounding it. The last room on the first floor was the living room. It was the largest room. There was a leather couch left by the owners (Tris moved it into the middle of the room facing the fireplace.) and a coffee table which was moved in front of the couch. The stairs ascended up between the dining room and the living room. Oh, and who could forget the beautiful front porch that wrapped around half of the house?
The second floor. The stairs, which were in the middle of the house, were left open. (That's why Tris liked the house. She could see who was coming up the stairs.) Tris’s room was right at the end of the hallway. Parallel with the hallway, the restroom was as long as the hallway. On the other side of the stairs there was a door that led into the storage room. At the end of the storage room was another door that led into another bedroom. (Tris found that strange.) There was about two pieces of furniture in each room, so the house seemed fairly empty.
